Our Mission

The mission of The Mercy Foundation is to inspire giving that supports Mercy Hospital’s ability to respond to the changing healthcare needs of our community.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every person gets the care they need in an environment that is warm, welcoming, and built upon a foundation of neighbors helping neighbors in support of Mercy Hospital.

Our Organization

Mercy Hospital serves nearly 25,000 households in the Moose Lake Community Hospital District, a geographic area that covers all of northern Pine and southern Carlton counties.

The Mercy Foundation is an exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our tax ID number is 41-1956174. Gifts made to The Mercy Foundation are tax deductible.

As The Mercy Foundation grows, so does its ability to make significant financial gifts and purchases for Mercy Hospital. Because of the good things donors like you have made possible, this has allowed us to purchase equipment and technologies that improve the quality of patient care and the safety of Mercy staff. Here are some of our exciting additions:

  • Purchase of four specialty chairs for our Chemotherapy & Infusion Department.
  • Addition of a Trident Imaging Unit for Stereotactic Breast Biopsy in our Diagnostic Imaging Department.
  • Funding of a new Therapeutic Listening Device for the Rehabilitation Department.
  • Purchase of two new Professional Dexcom CGM Transmitters for our Diabetes Education Department.
  • Establishment of the Rhonda Kay Skelton Birthing Center, new equipment and services includes: Two Halo Bassinets. Pro-Nox Nitrous Delivery System for mothers in labor. Three new Birthing Monitors.
  • Lactation Support Services with staff certified IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).
  • The purchase of furnishings and artwork for many areas throughout the facility: the Chemotherapy/Infusion Department, The Rhonda Kay Skelton Birthing Center, Mercy’s Education Center, the Diagnostic Imaging Department and The Surgical Center.
  • Establishing The Mercy Foundation Scholarships at Barnum, Cromwell, Moose Lake, and Willow River High Schools for students pursuing further education in any of the allied health fields ($1,000 per school per year).
  • Establishing the Rhonda Kay Skelton Memorial Nursing Scholarship ($2,500) offered to a Moose Lake High School graduating senior and another to a non-traditional student.
