Mercy Hospital has a casual opening for a 12 hour rotating (Day, Afternoon/Evenings, Nights) shift RN in the OB Department.
OB responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care of the patients in Labor & Delivery and immediate Neonatal and Postpartum Period. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including: fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies. Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the standards of care. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. Participates in performance improvement activities including drills.
Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and currently be licensed in Minnesota. Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or four year degree in Nursing. Must have current BLS and NRP or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
All external applicants hired will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
