Pharmacist - Casual Temporary 

Mercy Hospital has an opening for a Casual Temporary Pharmacist. This is an 8-hour day shift position.  This position will compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care and safely provide medications and information to the facility and the public. 

Qualifications: Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from a 5-year college or university or Pharm D Degree from a college or university.  Licensed by the MN Board of Pharmacy and has two years experience as a pharmacist.  Computer skills preferred: Meditech, MS Word, Excel.  Chemotherapy and hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

ED RN - Casual

Mercy Hospital has two openings for a Casual, 12-hour rotating shift, ED RN.  This person will provide quality health care in a timely manner and will follow policies and procedures in efforts to meet community medical emergency needs.

Qualifications: Minimum of Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college, nursing diploma or graduated of four-year nursing program (B.A.) or BSN.  Previous ER experience and EDM (emergency department module) computer charting experience preferred. Must have computer skills with the ability to type 50 words per minute. Meditech.  Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota. Current completion of BLS training, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP and CALS certifications or must obtain within one year of hire.  Other departmental skills: biPap, Heli-Ox, Bladder Scanner, EKG Machine and ZOLL.

Surgical Technologist – Full Time

Full time day, 8 hour shifts (varying start times and call rotation).  Assists the physician and surgical team before, during and after surgery. 

Qualifications: Graduate of a surgical technologist program from college or technical school. Current CPR certification, BLS, CST or able to obtain with six months of hire.

Home Health Aide - Casual

8 hour (day) shift. Will care for in-home clients to meet client's personal care needs as supervised and written in a plan of care prepared by a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:  High School or General Education Degree (GED).; or one to three months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Certification from training in Minnesota NA/R Home Health Aide Program or equivalent.  Complete competency evaluation of department.  CPR certified and current MN driver's license and valid auto insurance.

(Dietary) Nutrition Assistant  1 – Casual 

Varying shift times.  The nutrition assistant interviews and assists patients with meal selections, will deliver patient meals directly to the patients on the nursing units.  IN addition this position will portion food in accordance with regulations, use standardized recipes, clean food preparation areas, tray line, pots and pans, equipment (must be able to use all equipment in kitchen, includes ovens, mixers, steamers, slicer, dishwasher, steam jacketed kettle and blenders).  Maintains the pot and sink area, work on patient tray assembly, employee cafeteria and special functions.  Must be able to work in a cook capacity and be able to cross train into all dietary positions. 

Qualifications: Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.  High School Diploma or GED, 1-3 months related experience preferred. Ability to read, write, understand and follow written and oral instructions.  Must be available to work scheduled shifts and call availability.

 Paramedic – Full Time

The position requires three, 12-hour, shifts per week with every other weekend rotation.  Primarily a night (6pm-6am) shift position.  With the potential to be scheduled for a day shift.  A minimum of one on-call shift is also required per month. The primary responsibility of this position, while on duty, involves working as a member of the Emergency Medical Team responding to 911 calls, assessing, transporting sick patients and administering medical treatment and intervention for injured persons according to established protocols and policies. In addition to responding to 911 calls, the first four hours of the shift (6pm-10pm) would involve duties assigned by the Ambulance Supervisor, and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.  The next 8 hours of the shift (11pm-6am) would involve working in the Emergency Department of the hospital, administering patient care, monitoring and treatment of Emergency Department patients, when assistance is needed. 

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school. Preferred is an associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  NR EMT-P, ACLS, PALS, current Minnesota driver’s license, with ITLS or PHTLS desired.

Paramedic – Casual (2 openings) 

Two casual paramedics (12 hour shifts) with the ambulance EMS department.  Involves working as a member of the Emergency Medical Team responding to 911 calls, assessing, transporting sick patients and administering medical treatment and intervention for injured persons according to established protocols and policies. Will also work in the emergency department of the hospital, administer care and treatment of emergency department patients when assistance is needed. 

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school. Preferred is an associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  NR EMT-P, ACLS, PALS, current Minnesota driver’s license, with ITLS or PHTLS desired.

Speech Language Pathologist – Casual 

Casual, day, 8 hour shift Speech Language Pathologist.  Evaluates all patients referred regarding language, communication or swallowing disorders.  Establish and provide treatment programs designed to meet individual patients needs, maintain comprehensive patient documentation. Provides services to all ages in the hospital, skilled nursing home, outpatient and home care, and school settings. 

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Licensure and working toward Certificate of Clinical Compliance form ASHA.  New Graduates are welcome
